Sugar HyPeR.... MOMMY'S NERVES!!!!!!

Well, today was the big Easter Egg Hunt at FFC. Abby was so excited this morning! She got up at 7:45 a.m. and she was completely dressed (picked out her own outfit mind you) and was standing at the door with her Easter Bucket saying "I go to church now mommy, I ready! Let's leave mommy" We didn't have to leave until 9:15 and well, guess who won... ABBY!!! Once she started banging on the door saying louder and louder "Mommy, pease, I just ready for church!" I decided to give up the battle by 8:45. She's so funny!!!!

She couldn't wait until they yelled go for the egg hunt... there were only 10,000 eggs in the field, so I'm just sure there were not enough for her to get some! She made her way to the front of the line and off she went!!!! She Kept saying "I done in this spot, me find more!"

After awhile of searching, she pats herself on the chest and says "That enough for me. I ready go back in now." =)
We started at the Egg toss. Abby tried so hard to get her egg to go in the bucket, but it was a no go! Kerri worked very hard to help her as well as Neva... but whew! We certainly aren't ready to join a ball team yet! =) She was so cute trying!!

Next came the cookie decorating... that was ever so much fun and tasty too! =) What a mess we were after that little activity! Our dress was getting a little smudged by now! Good thing mommy buys plenty of shout! =)

Next was the egg race. She wasn't too sure about this. Was rather sober actually!! However, I sure got a kick out of watching Kay race her around the cones!!! Little hint... tape holds plastic eggs on a spoon well... however, Abby still managed to knock the egg off! Ha!!!! Oh my.
Now to the Egg decorating table! Debbie was so helpful to keep turning that egg! Oh, and if you don't peel the egg... yes they are crunchy! Abby found out!!!!!=)

Still moving through... we now arrive at the duck pluck! First try! Go girl! You found your knack!

Ahh!!! and we have arrived to the final station! Face painting! Tonight, she came up to me and says "Mommy, my face hurt!" I washed her bunny off and well... she still had a bunny! A red one now! Poor girl! Her skin is so sensitive!!!

The day is over!!! We made it! Abby has her beautiful lips on and bubby, well, he's chewing on some throw toy that Abby won. Joey eats more toys than he does food! Ha! We had a wonderful day and both kids were tuckered out. Bubby slept through most of the event on Aunt Christi (I spared you and didn't put your picture on the blog. Are you proud?? =) I took them to Wal-mart tonight to get some groceries and Abby fell asleep as we pulled in. When I put her in the cart, her eyes kept rolling and her head dropping. She says "Mommy, I so tired!" I told her to lay her head on my purse and she was out before she could say OK! Poor girl! We ran her ragged!!!

What'd you say we do with golf clubs????

We had excitement this evening baby!!! Abby was golfing in the front yard! Ha! It was entertaining... she took the word "club" literally. She'd lift that club above her head and bang on that ball as hard as she could... surprisingly... it worked, the ball flew! Now to tell you which direction and where it would land... that is another story! Bubby found that his club apparently tasted pretty good (Aleyna, can you add golf clubs to his menu?)

Joey had never been in the grass and he had a GREAT time exploring. I was surprised. With all the sensory stuff he has, I figured that it would freak him out, but it sure didn't! He crawled right out there! He decided to explore the tree in our yard... that he wasn't to sure about! Cracked me up! Of course, sister had to be right there to help! She's such a hoot! Bubby will never lack for a friend!

We enjoyed rolling around the living room with the kids tonight! Life has been so busy this week! It's been enjoyable though on most accounts. We are getting ready for the big egg hunt tomorrow. Abby is beyond excited! She was so thrilled to see every thing going together at the church tonight! She should be nice and wired by noon tomorrow!

Long days....

I confess... I have days that just feel like a blur! Things need done and I don't know where to start... TODAY WAS ONE OF THOSE DAYS!! Joey and Abby took turns today needing mommy, the laundry was over whelming me, the dishes were stacking, food needed made to satisfy both kids and mommy's growling tummy and I GIVE UP!!! =) Anyways, it has just been one of those days that I really can't tell you where the day went. I look up and it is all the sudden time to be on the road and we are all in our Jammie's! Do you have days like that ever? I'm sure I'm not alone in those days! Abby started her steroids and whew... it has begun! She has gotten this vengeful/hyperness that I can't even described. Let's just say she is running in circles and then stopping to drop kick her brother! If you see the Pfohl family coming... RUN!!! =) We come packed with excitement these days! Joey had a great day today. He's learning to tease. Oh it is hysterical!!! He starts to crawl and then stops to look if you are going to get him. At the point you try to grab him, he crawls as fast as little body can and just laughs shaking his head all the while!!!! I about lost it the first time he did it... so of course, we are doing it more now!!! What a goofy!!!

I met Jeff at the church today. My sister came as well. we started the packaging of two hundred treat bags for our big Easter egg hunt Saturday. I am looking forward to it because this will be Abby's first year to be able to go! She will absolutely love it. Hopefully, we will not get rained out! That would STINK! If we do, the rain date will be April 7. =) It is always fun helping get ready for things like this and then to see the joy on faces the day they receive everything will be just wonderful!!!

Riley Sufferings...

OK, Jeff suffered much today... he got to play video games!!! Ha! He is so funny. We got done early enough at Riley that we were able to go to Circle Center Mall. We have gone to Riley since Abby was 3 mths. old (She's 2 yrs. 4mths old now!) and we have NEVER EVER gone to the mall or done anything on one of those days! It's a new record for the Pfohl family!! =) Abby and Joey truly enjoyed riding the motorcycle race games! Jeff, well, we can see he wasn't complaining! He's too funny!
Joey's appointment went well today. They were pleased to see how well he was doing after being as sick as he was. They did his usual blood work and checked things like his liver, etc. through the blood work. Also, they did a urine genetic screening. That will take 4-6 wks. to get back, but it is in process! =) Joey will be having an Echo done on April 13. He will have this yearly, so it isn't really a big deal, however, they are doing it a bit earlier than planned because he's been having times when his feet turned blue. So, they just want to make sure that there is nothing hidden there that has been missed.
We had a phone consult with pulmonary today concerning Abby and her asthma. They are putting her on a steroid to help her with the attacks and the coughing. So, hopefully we will see improvements VERY soon!

The ROC....

Well, we will be arriving at the Riley Outpatient Center bright and early tomorrow morning. We were thankful that one of the hotels that works with Riley had a room open for us to come tonight and stay locally... we have been so wiped out since this last week. So, we won't have to get up at the crack of dawn! Yeah!!! Joey sees Neuro tomorrow. We are hoping for a good report. He actually had a great day today! He's been trying to clap. For those of you who do not know, this is a huge task for him! He has so much trouble controlling his hands and well... he is trying so hard!!! Go Joey go!!! We get so excited over his accomplishments! It's so cute to watch! He just gets so excited and those arms just get to going!!! We had a bit more luck with the food today. He's gone back to square one with this round of sickness. He did eat from at least one of his meals today! I was relieved about that. He even picked up a gerber puff to put it in his mouth! Yeah! I believe they are going to be doing some more genetic stuff tomorrow, so we'll probably be there awhile. I know that Dr. Walsh (Nuerogenetisist) was wanting to send out another urine screening. Joey's first one showed stresses that are caused by Mito, but again, nothing that was definitive. I think they have some blood work scheduled, probably considerably less though since they had done most of that while he was admitted. However, I'm sure that they will be rechecking some things anyways. Poor guy! I don't know whether it is fortunate or unfortunate, but he's starting to get used to it and not fuss as much.

Abby is struggling severely with her asthma today. She keeps having attacks so bad she can't get her words out. Thankfully, her puffer has been able to do the trick and we haven't had to rush to the doctor... HOWEVER... I will be calling tomorrow because she shouldn't be having this much trouble! Well, I guess I should get some sleep before the big adventure tomorrow!!

Look out for flaiming marshmellows!!!!

The fun has not even begun yet and bubby is asleep! Oh no! Poor guy. He's had a bit of a rough day. Mommy drug him out to go shopping and sister tortured him with yet another trip to Target! =) What a trooper!!! Hey, the little man deserves a nap after all of that shopping!

Well, tonight, we broke out the new fire place! Papaw was here to help light it! Oh, it was so much fun!!! By the way, don't light it on a wooden deck close to the trailer! Just a hint for all of you inexperienced fire place lighters! Ha!!! Take it from the Pfohls!!!! Actually, it wasn't that big of a deal. It wouldn't have even been an issue except the patio got a little toasty!!! Who needs a patio anyways, right???

So, here was the line up...

Me & Joey... Aren't we cute?? Mom... you'd think she was cold or something! Aunt "kisti" and Abby (Christi was trying to hide!), and well... Dad... posing as his crazy self! =) We love him anyways!!!!!

Now, as you might see here... I have on pink and FUZZY slippers! Every one wanted a picture taken and well... they said that I wouldn't show that on the blog... well... here it is! I am not ashamed! I wear fuzzy slippers!!!!! Now, Abby, she wanted to be just like mommy! I held my feet up so she had to have a picture of her feet up. Aren't her pink sandals adorable?? We match! =)

Now, it's time to roast the marshmallows! Look out for any flying marshmallows! You never know when Abby will pull a Dennis the Mennis! Ha!!! I think Daddy and Papaw both enjoyed teaching her the ropes of marshmallow roasting!!!

Weight loss update....

Well, to be really honest, I do not know how I did this... It is hard to choose healthy options when at riley... the first day, I did well, but then stressed kicked in and then coke jumped into my hand! =) However, I either was more stressed than I realized and didn't eat as much as I felt I did... or using that shovel yesterday trying to make a flower bed really worked for weight loss! I lost 5 lbs. this week. So, there it is... that's my start! 5 lbs. and counting!!! Until next Monday my friends!!!!

I love the outside!!!!!!!

Today has been WONDERFUL!! Bubby is feeling good enough to be a part of things again... still not 100% and still a bit tired, but getting there!!!! So... we made our way out side after washing laundry all morning! We found that bubby loved swinging and sister loved making him swing! They both just giggled and giggle! It absolutely did my heart good to hear! Daddy spoiled mommy today too!!!! I was given a patio set for Christmas this year and we were able to buy a small out door fire place with our recent tax return. I've been ABSOLUTELY itching to put it together! We got to today!!! Abby was her usual helpful self! She ran around with the garbage bag collecting the trash from the packages. Then bubby, well, he spent time chewing on whatever he could get ahold of then relaxing on mommy while drinking a bottle and daddy was left to keep working hard!!! Poor guy! =) When Jeff got the table all set up, Abby jumped into a chair and said "Eeww, table! I eat at it now!" Ha! She eats like a bird and is a skinny little thing, but my my!!! She always thinks about food! We enjoyed the family time and getting to accomplish things outside that we've been wanting to. Oh, in case you were wondering... Gardening is great for the muscles.... MINE HURT LIKE FIRE!!! That part isn't so fun! Time to hit the Ibuprofen!!!!

Never where we want to go....

Well, this was bubby on Tuesday. He was just pitiful! We were off to Riley. My heart sank as we had been home for 9 weeks with very few "emergency" situations. He had no strength and was wiped out!!!! Poor guy. As much as I hate having to go to Riley, I always appreciate the way they care for our whole family. We get to see Abby's favorites (Mine too) Aleyna and Jessica. It is good to have friends there... even if the friends get married and move away. =( You know who you are!!!! =) Bubby started feeling better after getting some fluids in him. He was so sweet the whole time and the nurses just absolutely made over him... some times the doctor's too. =) They couldn't get over though that even when he didn't feel well, he always managed to muster at least a smile when they spoke to him. He's my little trooper! That's for sure. Bubby's favorite part of the day was a balloon that was given to him. He was constantly batting at it when he started to feel better! It was too funny!!! Abby kept bringing it over to him saying "Bubby pay wis me and boon." OK, so if you can translate her words... you got it down!! =) This picture was taken Thursday night when he tricked us thinking he was better and ready to go home!! Little stinker!!!!

Sister absolutely missed bubby when her and daddy would go to the motel! She'd come back and say "Bubby, I miss you bub! I love you bub!" They are just so precious together!! Bubby's little face would perk up each morning when Abby and daddy returned to the hospital! He certainly loves for his family to be together!!
We are thankful for all of you who have prayed for Joey and supported our family emotionally through this. We are very thankful for how well he is doing. There are many more things much more severe he could be facing and I'm very thankful that we haven't had to go there!

Splish splash!!!

Well, we have had bath time fun tonight. Bubby did great! He sat in his tub all by himself! He usually has to get in with some one or with sister in order to not get scared. However, it's usually short with sister though. You have to wash real fast because he gets splashed and it's all over!!!! Abby is still a bit under the weather today. She's been going around kissing us all on the cheek because she can't share her "germies" At least she is considerate! =) We are very excited because Joey has been home from hospital and seizure free now for 9 whole weeks! Wahoo!!! I can't believe it. He's been doing so good. He's had some bumps the last few days with diet stuff... he's a sensitive little guy. But, he's pulled back. So... no biggie! He has therapy tomorrow. He'll probably be getting his braces on for his little hands. I'm not really looking forward to that... many reasons, no parent likes to see that, but also, I'm sure that he won't enjoy it. We'll get through it though... he's a tough little critter and very tolerant in most situations.... just don't tick him off! Abby either. She's easier to make mad than Joey though. So funny! OH! Good story... today, Abby went over to Joey who was sitting in his high chair still and she starts smacking him saying "Dedus (Jesus) help bub!" It's amazing that she knew that Bubby really does need Jesus' help... now the 2 year old version of the "hitting" might need to be worked on... but it was all too cute! She certainly has a gift of prayer... now if we can figure out how to tame those hands... we might have one well balanced kid! =)

Trying all kinds of new things...

Today, Abby took up baking... she can make a mean corn bread! Let me tell you!!! yep, it was on my diet too... I counted every crumb to be sure that I didn't over eat! We are doing Weight Watchers so we can eat what ever we want as long as we are willing to account for it! I was proud of myself! Then, Bubby got to try sausage... big thanks Aleyna! You planned the right meal. He was so cute. When we stayed at mom and dad's during our frozen pipes incident, dad put some sausage in Joey's safety feeder. Joey wouldn't put it down! He absolutely loved it! Aleyna remembered and put it on his menus! He tried it tonight and first bite in, he grinned and opened his mouth for more!!! Yeah JOEY!!!!!!!!!!! They have a new flavor of Gerber puffs out now, it's apple cinnamon. I think that is a personal favorite as well. =) Joey tore into those! We are so excited. He is actually starting to try and chew. He wasn't able to do that for so long and well... that little mouth is starting to move right! Now, back to the sausage... daddy was not a personal fan of seeing it being pureed in the food processor! He kept saying "if that doesn't look gross!" Ha!

How often are we thankful?

I was walking through Target last night with Joey and Abby... Now, you have to realize what this trip is always like... we get there, and first, diapers have to be changed or Abby needs to potty "white now mommy..." =) So, I got them settled into the cart so we had no run aways or crawl aways... then off to the snack bar to get Abby her usual popcorn and sprite for $1. She kicks back then in the basket of the cart and eats and drinks as we go through Target. Bubby, he sits up in the front all snuggled in a blanky and the buckle... as we are shopping, I hear Abby saying "tank ew dedus, tank ew dedus". I asked her, "Abby, what are you thanking Jesus for." She looks at me sweetly and says "everything mommy". Her innocence and the sweetness she has... she was so sincere... so, I had to stop and thank, "How often am I thankful?" I beg God every day for him to touch Joey completely, but I am reminded, I need to be thankful for the health he has as it could be SEVERELY worse. I beg God for this or that, but I don't say thank you enough. Abby gave me a reality check yesterday. so today, I have really tried to Join Abby in saying "Tank ew dedus" much more often!

The work is done....

Well, the work was done and we went with Aunt "kisti" for some Ice cream at DQ today. =) It was the highlight of the day.... after all that cleaning and scrubbing.... whew!!!! We had to have some ice cream (I know I know... you are thinking "what about the diet" Ooooppssss! I'm only human!) Abby enjoyed her ice cream very much... a little too much at times! Ha! She also thought the french fry box sported her for a great hat. Bubby, well, he kicked back and relaxed! He was all about his ketocal (formula for Joey =-) Aunt Christi, well, she refuses to make an appearance on the blog. Very sad!!!! =( We'll get you one day Aunt Christi, when you least expect it!!!!!! =) After we were finished, we made a mad dash to Marsh for some milk and more food for Joey... then back home we went and Mamaw Pfohl met us at our house for our usual Sunday evening dinner. All in all... we had a filling day! =)

Never a boring moment!!!

We have been busy with cleaning, etc. today... Abby had her "memicals (chemicals for those of you who DO NOT speak abinease)" out cleaning like crazy today. I love the outfit that she sported! Her little beaded necklaces, her shirt, her boots and her "memicals!" =) Now Joey, he has found his pass time to not be with cleaning, he'd much rather chew up Sister's picnic basket. He tends to be the undoer of the house... "let us not clean... let us tear it all out and apart!" =) It should be interesting as the years go by because Abby is very compulsive about placement with things and doing things just as they should be and Joey has ALREADY proven to be 100% Opposite.... yep... he just grins when he knows that he is driving her crazy!!! It's hysterical. He is going to be a real trip! Today, I was changing his diaper on the floor and he decided to get up and giggles as he crawls away SHAKING HIS HEAD NO!!!! HE sat down about a foot away from me, yep... naked... and just grins like "I'll show you mom!" =) We will certainly have our hands FULL FULL FULL!!!!!

Who you callin' a roley poly????

Well, I guess that maybe we should be more cautious... there are new scales in the house and well... they both have been totally overcome with studying them and had to be weighed 100 times each!!!! Oh no!!! Well, this week on our diet didn't go so well. We both have been stressed out and tired... so this week marks another one to try again! =) Hopefully we'll accomplish more and do MUCH better!

Can you get any more comfy????

Oh dear... Now, if this isn't a site to behold!!!! Abby has these little striped panty hose... If you read Jeff's blog http://jeffpfohl.blogspot.com, you would realize that these are the panty hose she wore the day that she looked like punky brooster... we keep finding her digging them out of the dirty laundry and putting them on! =) I think they may stand alone before she is done with them! She was absolutely determined to wear them to bed! Aaaahhhh... to be two again and wear whatever you want and people so "Oh, isn't that just cute!?!?!" =)

Do you ever feel this way???

Yep, this totally describes my day!!! Abby has been, well, there are not many words for it... so I'll just say "Something else" Yep, she's been something else today. I struggle on days like this. I sometimes fear that I haven't done well or that I've messed up because I have focused too much on keeping bubby healthy. But, tonight... Abby got out of bed, came to me and said "I just need to hold you (translation, Mommy hold me...). It has just been a bad day." I don't know what God has planned for her little life, but I know that she has one of the most tender spirits I have ever seen. It melted my heart. Her hugging me and saying sorry wiped away all the tantrums, times of not listening and well... all the times I felt the need to pull out my hair! =) I just pray that my kids will grow up knowing just how much their mommy and daddy loves them in spite of "bad days".

SHE IS TWO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OK, well, she's been two for awhile... but she's seriously ACTING two today. Oh my! She's been into every thing and well... mommy's nerves have hit SHOT! =) OK, now that is off my chest... back to cute stories! =) Today, Abby was helping me get canned goods out of the cabinet. We were getting ready to make veggie soup. She was racing from the cabinet to the counter top. She couldn't reach the counter so she was putting the cans on her step stool, then climbing up to put them on the counter top. She wants to help so much and she declared from her stool "Mommy-I tookin' (cooking)" She does still make me smile even when she is a stinker!!! On a funny note... The wind in Muncie today is measuring .04 grams today. I had Joey's scales out for his food with the kitchen window cracked open... the breeze blowing in was making the scales go wacko!!! It was actually very funny. For a minute I couldn't figure out what on earth was going on!!

It is date night!!!!!

Well, we were very excited tonight. I can't remember the last time we went on a date. Abby is just a little over 27 mths old and well... it's probably been that long. We got to go on a date tonight. My family watched the two kids tonight at my parents house and we had so much fun! We only went out to dinner for about an hour, but it was just a blessing to us. We talked, we laughed, we weren't saying "Sit down" every two seconds and it was just a wonderful time. Life has been so chaotic and well, it was a nice break to sit with Jeff and worry about nothing but focusing on him! The kids absolutely loved being at Mamaw and Papaw's house and seeing Aunt "Kisti" as Abby says. It was great relief for all of us! =) Abby picked her clothes tonight and she looked like punky brooster! You'll have to check out Jeff's blog later on. I won't steel the cute picture this time! =) I look forward to doing this more often. I have missed these times. Thanks mom, dad and Christi! We do ask that you pray for dad. Dad has continued to have complications after his last procedure. He goes in for some imaging on his legs this week yet. He's just having a lot of pain and discomfort. Thanks to all who have asked, prayed about, e-mailed or called to support all of us through this time. That means the world!!!!

It's granny!!!!!

We went to visit my granny tonight who lives in a nursing home in Winchester. We hadn't been in awhile mostly because of sickness going around. We go to go see granny (holding the two kids) and her room mate Nellie. They both just giggled and giggled about seeing the kids play and of course... they were TOTAL HAMS!!! It was good to see granny and the kids just hugged on her so much. She was so afraid that they had forgotten her... but they sure didn't. =)

If you listen....

Have you ever used that line? If you listen, I'll let you ride a ride! I used it... yep, sure enough i did!!! Abby loves the little merry go round at the mall. This was Joey's first ride! He kept squealing in delight!!!! Ever so funny!! Who would have thought something so simple? I tell you, it was a sight though... Do you know, on a miniature merry go round, there isn't a whole lot of room between the seats? I think I saw a few chuckles of mommy squeezed in to hold onto Joey. =) Oh well... anything to make them smile!!!!
