Long day...
Well, you will note that we have no new pictures for you today. =( No one felt all to camera friendly today. Poor Abby has spent her day shivering in the recliner with a blanket, box of tissues, Gatorade and a 103 degree temp. Bubby, he is crawling around sneezing and pulling on his ears... luckily no temp for him. So, we kept the camera away. Nothing worse than watery eyes, sniffles and a camera in your face! Even I will have grace =) Joey had OT today. He is having a lot of sensory issues in his mouth. Lots of gagging. Most people gag when something touches the front of their tongue but Joey gags when you touch any where from the mid part to the back of his tongue. This makes eating food with any solid form at all VERY difficult. They have us using a tooth brush on his tongue now before feeding him in hopes to desensitize that gag reflex. That's exciting! He hates and I feel so bad doing it. He doesn't even like to touch the bristles on his hand now! Poor guy. His braces didn't make it in for today unfortunately. They had to order them special for sizing purposes. Hopefully soon. Well, hoping for a more healthy day tomorrow!!!

The final run of it....

Well, Bubby returned from the pool to chase a can of ketocal (one ingredient to his formula) around the bathroom floor! Ha! Silly guy! He thought sure he might find something to fill his tummy in there!!! But, it didn't take long for him to pass out! What a cutie!!! Now... for the serious stuff. Dad came through the heart cath fine. He was having some severe chest pain this morning, but they were able to control it with Nitro, etc. He was first into the lab today. They found the problem right away and were able to fix it. They placed another stint and sent him back to recoup. He did great and is feeling great (considering) tonight. So, we are VERY VERY THANKFUL!!! He is hopeful to come home tomorrow. We'll just have to see what they evening brings! Thanks to all who have been there!
Trying out the pool....

Well, once we heard how dad's cath went, we decided to try out the pool before heading over to the hospital. It was going to be a bit before he could have company... so we didn't want to rush over there and loose visiting time with the kids waiting in the waiting room... so, you know... can't waste a good pool!!! Jeff and Joey tried the hot tub first... Bubby wasn't too sure, but he usually isn't when it comes to water! He's probably terrified sissy is going to come running to dump a cup of water over his head... (yep, it's happened! She's a quick one!) After a bit though, he settled right in and well... it was the life!!! Then mommy and Abby decided to brave the VERY VERY COLD pool. Abby had a blast. They had a neat little waterfall in it that she just thought was the greatest!!! Too funny. This was a great distraction for the kids, but it allowed me to be close to my dad. I have been so worried! I'm thankful there was something that close!
Our day started with a bang...
While waiting at the motel for a call today to see how dad did in his cath, we decided to go down for breakfast. We felt out of place since this place was "Fancy Smancy" (quoted by Aleyna!). Anyways, we were sitting there eating and Abby wasn't feeling all too well this a.m. She put a potato in her mouth which lead to her gagging, which in turn lead to projectile vomiting all over the dining table!!!! Oh my! There were people all around us and well... it was embarrassing!!!! I whisked her away and Jeff quickly started cleaning. He kept saying to the server "I'm so sorry!" We both felt two inches tall. The poor thing, she couldn't help it... but oh dear!!! We weren't laughing then, but looking back now, we are kind of chuckling!!!!!

Out of our league....

Well, we are staying at a Motel in Dayton so that we can be near my dad tomorrow while he is in having his heart Cath. It is scheduled for 8 a.m. We are all very nervous about it, however, we are praying in faith that God will give the doctors wisdom. A big thanks to all of you who have called or e-mailed me with support. That is greatly appreciated. We tried to explain it to Abby as to what is going on. She seemed to understand some what. She keeps telling people "Pray for Papaw, his heart hurt and he stay at doctor." =) She is so precious! Anyways, we stopped tonight before going to the motel to let dad see the kids. He has to come out to the waiting room because they aren't allowed in the rooms at all. Both kids were ecstatic to see him. It was great. Papaw and Mamaw also got to see Logan tonight. Mike and Rena drove in today from Pennsylvania. They were very surprised and excited. We look forward to seeing them tomorrow! Anyways, we will keep you posted via the blog when we are able. Oh, our funny stories... we are so used to staying at the motel in Indy that we feel as though we do not belong here! Ha! The motel in Indy has holes in the wall that you can literally see into the next room, they usually have dirty used things laying around the rooms such as socks clear to things I just won't mention! The tub is so filthy, you don't want to stand in it to shower and here.... not a speck of dust, every thing in it's place, beautiful decor, gorgeous furniture, a work out room, a pool and hot tub and a little snack market!!! Can you tell I don't get out much???? However, the kids had no trouble settling in! Right away abby had to use the phone to call mamaw and papaw to tell them all about the motel and then Bubby, well, he was into EVERYTHING in the room including the phone books! Ha!!! Oh well, it is a nice little distraction for us all and a very nice place to lay our heads. Whelp, off to try out the pillows!

The big question...
Abby is learning to ask why. It's a question that she's repeating over and over... I think I had hoped it wouldn't come this soon... but it has... Here recently, I find myself asking that same question of God. It seems like there has been an out pouring of so many things that one can't understand. This weekend began with loosing a very good friend, Glenn Cox. We have ministered along side of him since the beginning of Angel food, he's come to so many of Jeff's outreaches and he's one that would give anything to help you. He had a way of making people smile! I can remember my favorite memory was when we were leaving Riley. He had been there with us providing dinner at the Ronald McDonald house. Out of no where... we heard him holler and we look up to find him flying down the parking garage ramp on a wagon! You never would expect it... but he sure did it! It was like the cherry on the cake for that night. We all laughed and smiled about that for days! The example that he set was incredible! The love he had for his wife so wonderful... we were shocked and saddened by the news. This same day, my dad had a heart attack. He has now been transported to Dayton heart hospital. All these things challenge my mind and my emotions. I do ask why. I may not get the answer to my "why" questions, but I know that God is there and I know beyond a shadow of a doubt he CARES. I was listening to a song about praising him in the storm... the scripture they used in the song is about how God holds every tear... Our hurts do matter. He is the peace that comes in the storm. When the wind blows, he is there. Out stretched arms! I rest in that today. No storm is too great for Him!

Did you miss me???

Well, it's been a VERY VERY BUSY week. SO, I have disappeared! Sorry! Lots going on and no time to think! =) Both kids are doing pretty good. They both got good reports at their "rechecks". Abby's iron is hanging right in there, her weight is up and so is bubby's!!! Yeah!!!! Bubby is still struggling with his hands. I talked with Neuro today. Apparently this is typical of Mito. So, the best thing for him is diet and therapy. He is getting both, so that is good. They told us about some pretty major braces if he were to continue to get worse... whew... sounded like more than I want to know! We are very excited though because we got his new scales. I know many of you don't know a whole lot about his diet, but it's very strict and must be balanced with his carbs, protein, fat etc etc. Aleyna (our favorite dietitian ever) gave us access today to a keto calculator sight so we could begin making bubby menus. It's very exciting! Whew... I was confused by it though today! Good thing that Aleyna understands and is patient with me!! =) Whelp, must get some sleep for tomorrow! Another busy one!!!!
