Big party!!!

Well, the morning started off great with Abby getting up excited because it was time to go to "big girl" class with miss Neva! She looks so forward to that. So, we packed up and off to church we went! We were excited because we got to share today some of the things that God has done for Joey through prayer. IT was exciting to bring good news today and to get to share that with every one who has cared so much about our family... After church... then came the marathon! Time for the PARTY!!!!!!!!! I picked up the balloons at Factory card... Abby was so excited about the balloons and well... I THINK HER EARS broke today. Literally. Whew! That girl was wired beyond wired (Just ask aunt Christi!). Then came the stressful moment. It's now 95 degrees outside and well... I have worked really hard to ice my cakes and well... I have to figure out how to get them from my house to the church with out the heat of the sun coming through the Jimmy window killing them... Well, as it would have it... I was successful! I even looked at a rental house with my sister on the way... ok, window shopped that is! =) Well, we arrived safely and the cakes remained in one piece. So, it is time for decorating. Poor Bubby, Abby decided that he couldn't have his balloons. So, he kept screeching at her the whole time I decorated! yep, I'd turn my back and off she'd go with those balloons! Stinker! WE survived and the decorating was done in the nick of time!

Well, then we started the action! We had a wonderful little bubble blower that was the hit for the start of the party! ha! Who would have thought a cheap little bubble blower would provide this much entertainment!
Next came the games. We created and made our own birthday hats,
We had a crawling race. Shelby did a great crab crawl, Abby... well, she couldn't figure out which way to go & Joey, he cheated! He used Jenny's help to run to the finish line! Good thing he's the birthday boy! We finished the race off with some squirt gun wars. I'm not sure that I could decide who had the most fun. (specifically Pastor Kris & Jeff! Hmm....) Time to open the presents! I tell you, Joey was blessed beyond blessed tonight. HUGE thanks to EVERY ONE! The fun was when we got home. Joey was awake (after napping on grandma's shoulder while every one cleaned up!), and he wanted every thing unboxed! Forget the box! Give the man his toys! He was so excited. He went from toy to toy exploring and examining!

THE BEST we saved for last... BRING ON THE CAKE! Joey enjoyed his low carb birthday cake! Mmmm Mmmm good! I tell you, he had it every where! Abby hardly touched hers... Joey... look out buddy! I'm not going to miss a bite!!!!

Too tired for words...

Well, it is now 5 a.m. Joey got up originally around 2 a.m. After 2 1/2 hrs. of trying, I get daddy to help. He gets him to bed finally and I just dose off... What this time you say? Abby appears at my bed side. "mommy could I sleep with you a little bit?" Aaahhhh!! Joey's bday party is tomrorrow, so I stayed up lating making cakes and cutting the fruit... now, I'm thinking maybe sleep should have been priority.

Birthday Fun!

We went to Ryan's with some of the family tonight to celebrate bubby's birthday. We had a blast! Joey enjoyed his first cake, not what you'd call a normal cake, but he thought it was AWESOME! Too cute. He enjoyed opening his presents and attacked sister for helping! =) Poor sissy! she just wants to help! Ha! We enjoyed the evening... The BEST PART... joey took two steps tonight!!! Yep, it is true! The little man did it! I was so happy I cried. It has been a wonderful day!!!

Most embarrassing moments...

There was a Knocking on my door today... Yep... and too my dismay... I WAS A MESS AND SO WAS MY HOUSE!!!!!!!!!! Well, low and behold, some one was wanting to look at the house. Yep, no phone call, just pulled in the drive and knocked! ha! She was very understanding of my mess, thankfully AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, very interested. She's doing some checking into financial aspects and will be calling! Yeah!!!!! Please pray! This would be an awesome blessing to get the kids out of here before winter! =) Thanks much!

Happy Birthday!!!!

Today, July 5th... we say a GREAT BIG....Happy Birthday Joey!!!! It has been a wonderful year and so much fun to have Joey in our family! WE love you bubby! Happy Birthday to you today bub!!!!!!!!!! Abby says, and I qoute "I want to say Happy to bubby!" We all love you little man!

Happy 4th of July!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, we have celebrated! We spent tuesday evening with Jeff's family celebrating and then wednesday evening with my family. Tues. Joey discovered climbing in and out of Uncle Mike's lawn chair. He was very proud of himself! Abby enjoyed using poppers on the ground... Jeff almost got in trouble throwing them at his wife! =( In the words of Abby "Dat not nice, Daddy!" It was very upsetting! We were almost rained out on Wed! We ran out to make s'mores, then backin to avoid the rain. When it stopped, we ran back out to do our fire works (thank you Aunt Christi!) then back in to get dry! Ha! It was actually a comedy show! =) I'm tellin' ya! We had a good time though and as always, it was fun to watch the kids expressions and enjoyment of every thing. Each fire cracker, Abby exclaimed "More, do more!" Then we moved on to the sparklers... WHEW! Abby had fun with those. Let me tell ya! We opted to NOT let go of her hand though as she was gettin' crazy!!!! Well, hope all of you had a wonderful 4th! We sure did!

In the beginning....

Well, when God blessed us with Joey, we had no idea what was to come. He was so cute and well... the mommy in me says HE STILL IS! I was preparing some things for Joey's birthday (july 5) celebration and I came across these pictures. Joey was a c.section baby so he had to be taken to the nursery for a little bit after birth to be monitored due to some fluid on the lungs. On the way, the first picture you see is Abby establishing her still strong bond with her baby brother. Yep, when daddy nelt to introduce her to bubby, her first response was to kiss him on the head! Thinking about it still brings tears to my eyes. The next picture here is my first time holding Joey. He is such a joy to our lives. His trials started only two days after birth when he turned blue the same night he came home. We had no idea what Joey was going to face, but as we come up on this year, I don't regret a minute! I hate every thing he has had to walk through, but I'm thankful I'm his mommy and I'm thankful I get to walk through it with him if he has to go through it.
