New Life...

Some times, God has us slow down. He has us at a place where we can stop and think. Today's been that day for me. I picked this picture because it really goes with what's been on my mind. This plant (in my flower bed) before blooming, looked much like a weed. Just kind of there. But when it bloomed, it was vibrant and beautiful. Some times, I think people are that way. You look at them and you think "how could God ever use them? what would be the plan for them? Why would he ask us to minister to that person?" But what we don't see... with a little bit of care and a little bit of nurture, what's inside is breath taking and gorgeous. I think of Isaiah 61. It's the call on our lives (Jeff & I). I fumble some times on the call and I think we are crazy... but it's true. It's where we are. In Isaiah 61, you read about a call. A call to reach the unloved, the poor, the broken of heart... The ones that most don't see any worth in. In vs. 4... I'm always caught with this "They will rebuild the ancient ruins and restore the places long devastated." yep, the ones that most look at as a weed, God has a plan for. May I always remember when I look at some one, much like this flower... it may look like a weed, but inside... there could be something amazing just waiting to be nurtured and bloomed into something beautiful!
