I am so not a morning person!

Well, I was awoken at 5 a.m. today by who knows what! :) Soon after, miss Abby was up. She some how managed to choke in her sleep so she decided she must be sick and needed some pampering! Silly girl. Joey heard the comotion and decided to join the fun! Alas... I got them both settled and out of the bedroom comes daddy! He wasn't sleeping well. He still has an awful cough and can't rest at all. So, he is now conked out in the chair. 6:50 a.m. I have a load of laundry in, 2 loads put away, and I'm wondering why on earth I'm sitting here typing and not catching some sleep. :) Oh well! My house could use some love anyways! Hope all of you have a WONDERFUL Saturday!!! -mindy

Crud crud and more crud...

So we have had this crud going on around here... can't stop passing crazy colds! All came to a head today! Off to the doctors we went! No kidding! Jeff is near if not in the first stages of pneumonia and Joey has an ear infection and sinus infection... me and Abby? We are left to fend and hope we don't get it!

Long week...

I know that it is only Monday, but it has been a LONG week! I'm not kidding! I'm wiped already! So... hats off to hoping we all can get through this week healthy and with out any more germ infestations!!! -Mindy

Ok, this probably has it's place more on the home school blog... but I have to share it here instead! I have about an average of 3 people that look at that blog and I"m too excited not to share this with every one!!! Tonight, Abby wrote her first complete sentence all by herself with out my help!!!! I was extatic!!!! So... I'm a proud mommy tonight! Ok, I am every night, but this was super exciting!!!! :D

I have been trying to find new ways to work with Joey and his speech issues... HE LOVES music. So, we have started singing our words as we pronounce them just during the times we are specifically working on that! So... today... He did it! He said Abby! Sissy was elated that he said her whole name!!! He usually calls her "B". No kidding! This is a HUGE step for him. he has never been able to say two syllable words until just VERY recent. So... I wanted to share this huge marker with you! :) Enjoy!

Our Growth group night...

Jeff was sick yesterday, so we held growth group at the church last night. During our group time, Joey was shopping at the food pantry. I thought it was too cute not to share! :) Mommy had clean up time after, but I thought it was sweet and I didn't mind to replinish the shelf after he had shopped! :)

Ok... so this morning... this was the site I woke to! LOL! My sleepy boy has found his way to sleeping in the recliner but I found this an unusual position for sleep! Whatever works!!! :)

Little music man!

So, Joey got his first drum set for valentines day. Aunt Christi and Uncle Jimmy thought this to be a perfect gift for him! Boy were they right! He plays this NON stop! I have never seen him take to a toy like this. However, I know that he loves music. He even taps his sticks together and says "one, two three!" LOL! Oh it is hilarious! I hope I can catch that on video soon!

I'm lost...

I just realized it has been FIVE days since I blogged... that's a new record for me! I usually blog more than once a day! LOL! Thought I'd check in! Please pray for Emily Sebree and her family today. Emily's grandmother passed away today at 1130 a.m. I am sure the family would appreciate your prayers!

chaos of life...

Life has been so busy and let me tell you, I have been fighting not getting caught up in the chaos of it all! I think some times, we get so busy we forget to find that quiet spot to find God and just let Him give us that true rest in him! That's been me this week! I've been so anxious and stressed out... but I haven't taken time to climb up on papa's lap and just let Him be in control of it all! This morning, I was reading in Isaiah. I have been struggling with fears about Joey. The weakness they saw in his right side signifying a possible nuerological issue and the eye issues... doubt has wanted to set in and I have to keep reminding myself where we were just a few short 6 months ago bringing him home from the hospital as a sick little boy! Then, we had the issue of repairing the van yesterday... thankfully Jeff's nephew is a mechanic because we would have owed well over $1,000 for the job he did! But nope, just parts and cash for a dinner out with his girlfriend! :) But still... the money we put into the parts and wondering where it's going to come from to replace it in the budget... this morning, as I was reading Isaiah, I was comforted by and I leave you with this:

Isaiah 44:8,9

'Do not tremble and do not be afraid; Have I not long since announced it to you and declared it? And you are My witnesses. Is there any God besides me, Or is there any other Rock? I know of none.'"

Cincinnati Update...

Sorry this is late! I forget that some of you read here and not the caring bridge page! Abby did OK during the appointment at Cincinnati. Genetics is going to begin seeing her the next time that we go just to ensure that she doesn't need any thing, etc.. Joey had a great visit. They were VERY excited to see how good he is doing. They were just in awe of the changes in him!! Thank you God!!!! I wanted them to see it and I said nothing because I wanted to hear them say they saw it! If that makes sense. Just waited for their observation basically. They did say they want him to revisit with Neuro because he appears to have weakness on his right side some times causing him to drag his leg on occasion. This can be a neurological issue with the brain. Then, they also were concerned about his eye sight. They could see a definite issue there. They want him seen by a specialist there at Cincinnati. There is one who has a clinic a bit closer than the main hospital, so they are sending us there. I have neuro scheduled for two weeks from now, but I haven't heard from the eye doc. May call them on Tuesday or Wednesday if I have not heard from them. Thanks for the prayers for our family. It means more than you know! Also, thanks for checking in on us! God bless all! -Mindy

We went to Cincinnati today. Had a GREAT appointment. I am wiped so I will tell you all tomorrow. Night!

Cooking...

In case you haven't put it together... I LOVE to cook! Doesn't matter if it is for meals or baking... I love it over all! I love making new recipes, etc! Fun fun fun! I have gotten to do just that.

To put in the freezer for my diet... I have made:

All Joy in my kitchen today! Loving it! If the kids weren't so young... i might consider catering!

So Busy!!!!

I feel like this is the old days! Running every day for medical reason! Ug!!! This was our stomping grounds today! Joey is getting Evaluated by Reid Hospitals rehab for speech and Occupational therapies. Today was Occupational and tomorrow is speech. So.... it went REALLY well. I was VERY impressed with the facility! SUPER clean and the people were SO NICE!!! Abby is now best friends with the receptionist! Ha! I am thrilled to have joey in such a wonderful place! Now to just get sessions started and get on our way! Off to bed for ANOTHER busy day tomorrow! Night all! -mindy
