wondrous reminder....

I'm really struggling right now... I have been for awhile. The fear of the unknown is so welling up inside of me. The fear of what is wrong with Joey, the fear of what is going on with Abby, the fear of what the future will hold for them each.... All of it is so heavy. I know I can sit here and say "In Jesus name they are OK." But it doesn't take the hurt away that is in my heart as a mommy watching her babies hurt and suffer. When we pull into the hospital, my three year old yells, "I scared! Go home!" That shouldn't be! Just visiting a friend... he said that as we pulled up to the door. It hurts my heart. Watching Abby fatigue and wake up with dark circles hurts... Watching Joey struggle to gain the coordination to play his games... the daily struggles of their little lives wears on me after awhile. I don't know how to cope and tonight, I snapped. I just started sobbing as I talked to Abby. She asked what was wrong. i told her the truth "Mommy hurts in side because I can't take away your hurts. That's hard for mommy's because they want to fix every thing." She climbs up in my lap, wipes my eyes and says "Mommy, it's OK. You don't have to. Jesus will do that!" That was my wondrous reminder for the day!

I post in tears...

I post this morning asking you to pray for a PRECIOUS family. They have battled a form of Mitocondrial diaseas with their sweet little girl Marie. Marie is now with Jesus. She went peacefully in her sleep sleeping with her daddy. Shan (mom) was expecting and she got to meet her new sister before Leaving to be with Jesus. My heart is just broken. This family has such amazing faith and are amazing people! I am at a loss what to even say except to plead with all of you to pray for them. I can't imagine loosing your child... I just can't. Please pray for them and pray for those who battle this terrible disease. I wish I had the power to take it away! I only have the power to pray though... God is more than able! Thanks every one. If you'd like to leave a message for the family or you would like to see their sweet angel's picture you can visit http://josieandme.blogspot.com/ Thanks all!

Cleaning day...

Well, I just don't get it!!!! I clean and then... it's time to clean again!!! I think I live with two small tornados and one tall hurricane!!!! :) I'm not kidding!!! I just don't know where the messes come from!!! Today, we are just trying to piece life back together. I don't know why but when you are gone for three days for medical reasons... it's hard to get things straight when you get back to life. I think fatigue plays a part but who really knows!
Jeff is working very hard on making me a window shelf for my herbs in the kitchen! It's looking beautiful! I can't wait until it is all done! I'll post a pic when he is done!!! :)
Well, back to the house! Have a great day every one!!

No place like home!!!!

You know, I am so so very glad to be home! There is just absolutely no place like home! I can remember when I was kid, much like my own.. I lived for those get away moments, sleeping at a motel, going some place new... I have to confess... I still live for those moments... HOWEVER I am learning truly that there is absolutely no place like home! Even with the house work and laundry and getting ready for another round at the hospital... I am THRILLED to get to be home! Well back to it peeps!

Checking out...

The kids slept good last night on their little hida bed. They were cracking us up at some points through the night. We are getting ready to wrap up and go home. It's been an interesting stay. They have two forks, two spoons, three dinner plates... etc... etc... for a family of four... that makes it hard! We managed to get through though!

Sister is doing pretty good this morning. She said things are getting stuck going down so my guess is that she is having some swelling. She's hurting pretty good this morning... that lul between the pain med allowance is hard on it!

Have a great day every one! We are headed home! do the laundry and repack to come back wednesday morning for Joey's surgery. I'm tellin' ya! Some one is trying to do me in! LOL!

Tonsils are gone!!!

Miss Abby was a trooper through it all! She made her over night admission ok and it turned out to not be as bad as she expected! We had a moment of fear yesterday. The Anesthesia doc said because of Abby's weight and how tiny she is, she was likely to have much more problems with the procedure. She prepared us that often at that size, they are left on the breathing tube and placed in ICU. She thankfully was able to breathe on her own within moments of waking. PRAISE GOD!!!She's had trouble with pain control but not too bad. we are grateful for that. She is a trooper and good to do what the doctors tell her. So... that HELPS majorly! We ended up staying in Cinci tonight at our usual little room we get. They said that the first 48 hours is the most risky for bleeding, etc... so we thought that 3 hours away wasn't where we would rest the best! Please pray for her tonight. S he's groaning in her sleep and trying to clear her throat often! Poor thing! Her little throat is so tiny and then with her air way issues... it just makes it tighter in there. At least she is not in the hopsital!!! yeah!!!

We did it!!!

well, we muddled through! Becky, sharon, Christi & I did 45 qts plus 7 gals of corn to freeze!! yep... that's true! We left most of it for the food pantry to use. So, they are BLESSED with corn! Lots and lots of corn!! :) It was fun to be together and get it all laid back.

Last night we went to the fair. the kids had a blast. Mamaw, Papaw and Aunt Christi all pitched in to give rides. The kids were all smiles! I will post pics soon!

Hope all have a great night! Tomorrow, we pack for Cinci and leave by 7 a.m. the next morning! Whew! I don't want to leave that early but they leave me no choice! :) Night all! ~Mindy

Busy day today...

Well, I am excited for today! Becky and I are going to head over to the church to bag and freeze the corn that wasn't used in the food pantry. We can then put it in the pantry freezer for people to enjoyed this fall/winter! Very exciting!!! While I'm at it... I think I'll take my corn over and get it done at the same time! :)

This afternoon, we are excited for a first! We are taking the Kids to the Darke County fair. So so excited!! I always loved going as a kid and have so many memories of mom and dad taking us. I love looking back on my child hood and then realize I'm leaving those Kind of memories in my own child's mind. So thrilling to know that you get to be a part of that!!! So... I'm looking forward to this evening! I would say, they are going to have to experience some fair food too! Man, you just can't miss it!!! I sacrificed at the 4H fair and behaved... After loosing 4.8 lbs. this week... I'd say I have been a GOOD girl and deserve a small treat myself!!! :)

Well, I hope all of you have a wonderful weekend! I know we are hoping too!!! ~Mindy

Lost in the world some where!!!

Well, my blogging readers are starting to go down in number every day... but considering I seldom blog right now... seems reasonable!

Lots going on around here. Just doctoring, rehab, that kind of stuff... but it just seems busier than normal. I think my blogging, caring bridge and several other areas have taken the hit! :) I will be back before you know it!

Miss Abby is 5 days away from surgery. Amazing how fast Aug. has gone! She is getting anxious about it but excited because the ped told her yesterday that he is ordering a WHOLE WEEK of ice cream and popsicles for her! She said it is worth it just for that! LOL!

joey has his surgery a week after Abby's. He pretty much doesn't care! He cracks me up. No worries! We could all learn a lesson from him!

Other than that... it's just been getting through the muddle of life! Hope all are well! Hugs!

Some vaca pics...

Sportin mommy and daddy's shades...

trying out a game of horse shoe. Ha! Little man weighs less than the horse shoe I think!

This was the extent of Joey's boat ride... he demand his boat stay on dry land... also, note that he has NO air in his floaties! LOL!

Sissy and daddy braved the water.

The loved chair in the cottage! Big enough to hold me and hte kids! We LOVED IT! Wow. Abby says she is asking Jesus for one just like it in her house!

Bubbles bubbles...

Well, we don't get to go to church today because the kids are just wiped out! Between the ER and Bible school yestery and growth group last night, the kids both have droopy eye lids and both are fussy. So... A bubble bath is on their agenda and watching church live on the computer! :) WE are really coming into needing to watch their activity and being around crowds. They both have their pre-op appointments this week and Abby's surgery is a week from Tuesday. So... Resting and waiting!!! Have a great day all! ~Mindy

Rough day...

My poor little man had a rough start to his day! Yep... we began in the ER. He was being silly last night. Playing and jumping. I had already taken his braces off because it was bed time and well... his ankle gave way and down he went! Poor little man! We didn't take him last night because he's done this before and with his low tone, it takes him time to recoup... well, he didn't recoup! The doc at the ER got him to walk. She thought for sure it was broken. But, the xray proved wrong! Lil man just has one heck of a sprained ankle. He's doing better today as the day has gone on, but still no fun for him! We wont' be at church tomorrow. He doesn't need more activity than just life for now on that ankle. Not to mention... we are nearing abby's surgery so we need to stay GERM FREE for now! :) So, we'll be observing from home. Night all! ~Mindy

Very exciting!!!!

Howdy howdy!! God is just awesome. With purchases and donations to the kids tonight, our bake sale brought in $102!!! So stinking awesome! So... HUGE HUGE THANKS to those who pitched in and helped! Means the world to me!

I thought I'd quickly explain the pic. Abby has ALWAYS wanted to see a rainbow... this was across the street the other day. She screamed "thank you Jesus for the pretty rainbow." I picked the picture for this post because it's a total reminder of how AWESOME our God is!

Please pray for Joey. He fell tonight and has been able to walk consistanly. at times he can bear his weight but at others he falls. With his muscle issues, this is not an abnormal response, but we are watching it VERY VERY CLOSELY. If he isn't better in the morning, we'll have to go to the ER for it. He usually pulls out of it though.

Night! ~Mindy~
