Joey has been having some pain in his back/hip. He started having swelling friday evening in it. We took him to the doctor yesterday however, our normal doc was not available. The doctor seeing him was uncertain of his care. We have been in touch with our cincinnati doctors today. Genetics is concerened about the pain and swelling and want to see him right away. So, we go tomorrow. They are concerned we are seeing some sort of flair up in whatever genetic disorder he has. They want Nuero to see him sooner as well. I am still waiting on a call back from them. They are also considering him seing some form of a muscle/bone type doc as well. Your prayers would be appreciate as we go tomorrow! I will keep you updated! Thank you so much!

Left me blank...
I can say that i really don't know what to write here tonight... I am at a loss for words. We are all emotionally exhausted and physcially worn out right now. Miss Abby is still very emotional about it all and Joey, though he doesn't understand, he feels all the turmoil in our hearts right now. He has been clingy too! Poor guy. We had the funeral for granny yesterday. It was just beautiful. Although, I chose not to share, the minister shared Abby's story about knowing Jesus so we could all be together in heaven. I was touched by that! It was also good to hear all the good memories about granny. The last year and a half has been hard... granny has been failing in health and it was good to look back and remember her spunk and what a stinker she could be! Ha! Thanks to those who were supportive. It means a lot! ~Mindy

In closing, I want to share this poem my friend Mandy Smith wrote:
Granny
Together we have shared many things,
Now in Gods grace you have your angels wings.
Years have past and time was spent,
To Heavens gates you've now been sent..
Some might say this is where we part,
But God and I know this is only the start.
In His arms so happy and free,
For eternity, that's where you shall be.
I may weep, for you I will miss,
But then I will smile for your eternal bliss.
I know you are happy and so full of love,
Smiles and kisses till we meet up above.

Hard conversations....
Well, after the news of Granny passing away yesterday, we had to sit down with our four year old and tell her the news. My throat clutched because they have faced so much with sickness themselves that I was in fear of what she would think of this new subject of death. She was shattered, but something beautiful came out of it. She said to me "Mommy, we will all be with granny one day in heaven right?" I said to her that we would as long as we had Jesus in our hearts. She thought for a moment and then looked disturbed. Her response to this blew me away "You mean, there are people who won't be there?" I nodded yes and said that having Jesus in your heart is a choice. We have chosen Jesus and some have not. She got a bit misty eyed and really quiet. Next thing you know she stands up and says, "Then we just have to tell every one we can about Jesus. I want every one to go to heaven. Granny is running and playing. She isn't sick any more. Every body needs to go there." I began to cry at her response. She is so right. We all need Jesus but it is a choice. If you are reading this this morning and you haven't met Jesus, My Abby would like to introduce you!

Granny...
We are asking for prayers for granny. The doctor was in today and explained the granny is quickly loosing ground. She said it could be today or a couple of months, but granny is about to meet Jesus. We are asking that you pray for every one involved and peace for her in this time. Thanks! ~Mindy
Lovin' it....
Well, Jeff is at work again with his wood working. This is the drawer that sits by my stove. I have a hard time finding my spices in the cabinet above the stove because I am so stinking short. He is builing removable racks into this draw that my spices will sit on. I'm so excited about it I can't stand myself!!! I absolutely love things to be orderly in my kitchen and this will line them up side by side in an orderly fashion! I can even alphabatize them if I want!!! Whoo!!! when he has it finished, he'll post in on his blog so you can see the full project completed! www.jeffpfohl.blogspot.com
As for the kiddos, they are still sick. Joey had a tummy ache in the night. He told me "Belwy huts! Tiss it mamaw!" So cute!! Abby ran temp through the night... maybe some day we'll be germ free! I have had no update yet today on my granny! More when I know it! Thanks so much for those who have been praying!

What a bummer!!!!
Ended with a bang...
Today has been super busy! I stopped for a short visit with granny. Took her some pictures of the kids and a picture abby colored for her! Then I was off to a cooking show! It was GREAT show! I was VERY excited!!! Then when I got home, Abby needed some girl time. So we got out the polish and spruced ourselves up! Miss Abby did her own... these aren't great pics cause I was using my cell, but still worth sharing! LOL! We had polish every where needless to say! :)
For a quick update... Abby and Joey are both running periodic fevers. Joey more so than Abby. However, Abby isn't feeling to great herself, it is obvious to see. Very tired and fussy most of the time.
As for Granny, she has been diagnosed with Mersa in her Leg (She fell awhile back and has an open wound), she sepsa in her blood, & Having problems with her BP dropping. She is hanging in there however, today having some difficulty breathing because of congestive heart failure. Thanks for the prayers!

Joey's doc appointment...
Joey was seen today for a mystery fever he's been having. They said that he has RSV and that he may be looking at tubes in his ears. He has fluid behind the right ear drum and hasn't been able to rid it even after antibiotics.
update...
Granny has an infection in her blood. It has gone clear through her body. Mom says they are saying it isn't good. ~Mindy
Prayers appreciated...
I posted a couple days ago about my granny, Mabel. She is continuing to loose ground with her health. She is 94. They are sending her to the hospital today. That is all I know for now. They are concerned she has now developed Pnuemonia. I am not going yet as I don't want the kids hanging out in the ER today, but I am waiting for updates. Your prayers would be appreciated right now. Thank you!

Life styles...
Well, we are still working very hard at learning to eat healthier foods. The kids aren't as thrilled as we are... but they are actually adapting well. THey LOVE snack time. Joey's favorite is Cherry tomatoes and Abby's favorite is oranges. She just loves them! Meal time though is a bit of a challenge. I'm learning to cook veggies with more flavor and I'm learning to use a lot of fresh herbs and spices. That is helping all of our taste buds! I'm proud of the changes we have made and proud of the kids for trying new things. They aren't there yet on all the fresh... but they are coming along and hey, they are kids! The metabolize fatty foods bettter than mommy and daddy! Ha! Thanks for those who have praying for us. Keep it up! We still have a LONG road!

So blessed!
I just got home from a cooking show! I was there 4 hours and totally wiped! BUT it was an awesome show and I had so much fun doing it! My biggest show ever! :) But on arriving home, Jeff had my dinner ready. HOME MADE fajitas! He even cut up fresh mushrooms just the way I like it and put them in! The man despises mushrooms and refuses to touch them! He had my toppings all sat out, with a glass of Crystal light! So sweet! Thanks honey! I love you!!! :)

Very exciting!!!!
Well, I am very excited! I went to our monthly pampered chef meeting last night. While there, they gave me a gift for achieving certain goals! I received a Pampered chef calendar calculator combo! So Exciting! I will proudly use that at my shows!!! Then, I was awarded four ribbons for my sales in February! A ribbon for a $400 show, a ribbon for a $1,000 month, A ribbon for holding the highest dollar show on our team and a ribbon for having the highest sales that month on our team! Oh man! Was I ever feeling blessed! At the very end of the show, they rewarded me with a plaque to hang on the wall. I had not realized but starting out and all, I have been in the top 31 NATIONALLY in pampered chef sales! YIPPEE!!!! I came home on a cloud last night! :) So fun to be there and get the pat on the back. I'm not a big person for that, but every once in awhile... it just FEELS GOOD! :) yeah for me last night! A HUGE thank you to ALL OF YOU who have helped me get here and held shows! You guys are awesome and I look forward to being your consultant for a VERY LONG time!!!! :)

All time low...
Well, I have come to realize that my health has hit an all time low! Kind of scary actually. So, Jeff and I have been doing a lot of talking and praying. We do diets and fail, we work out a few days and quit... choices and changes have to be made and made now. Not only is my health in jeopardy right now, but I am teaching my kids habits that they are going to have this battle soon themselves. I'm just really not OK with that. So, today, the kids and I had a long talk. There is NO junk in our house any more. All of it is gone. The only thing left is fresh fruit, veggies, string cheese, cottage cheese and nuts. So... we have made a promise to each other (Jeff and I) that we will not allow each other to buy junk. It's over. Our lives are to be for the Glory of God and I don't want to loose that over poor choices. I don't want my kids to loose that over my poor choices... so, we are starting a new day. Please pray though because this is a battle. It isn't easy to do this and it isn't easy to stay with those commitments, but we have to. Absolutely have to! Thanks all! -Mindy

Pampered Chef...
I am back doing pampered chef very regularly but with much more balance this time! I think where I went wrong and why I felt conviction I was in the wrong is I let my life get consumed by it! So... Back at it! I am really enjoying it and it is very good away time for me! So, if any one is interested... I'm your lady! :) I'd love to do a show for you! -Mindy
Fare well!
We said good bye to the little snail in our fish tank! He's out lived many, but was a good bye to him last night! Abby handled it very well. She threw him a kiss and hug and told him good bye. Turned around and said "Guess we'll have to buy a new one now!" LOL! Little stinker! I have to say, that snail had laid so many eggs in it's time that I was glad to see it go. I didn't tell her that! We'll just hope that maybe the next one WON'T LAY EGGS!!! :)
